Myranda Tyler recorded her sixth double-double of the season, finishing with a team-high 15 points and a career-high 17 rebounds for the Pointers (15-5, 8-3 WIAC). Lauren Anklam came off the bench to add 14 points on 5-for-10 shooting, as UW-Stevens Point's bench outscored UW-Superior's 31-20 in the game.
Sally Linzmeier's double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds on 7-for-17 led UW-Superior (12-7, 5-5 WIAC). Both teams struggled from behind the arc, shooting a combined 5-for-31, but the Pointers held a 36-20 advantage in points in the paint to earn the win.
After the game's first tie of 33-33 early in the second half, the Pointers led by between four and nine points from the 12:27 mark of the second half until Britnee Blake's three-pointer cut the UWSP lead to two, 58-56, with 1:22 remaining. Anklam answered with a layup for UW-Stevens Point to give the Pointers a two-possession lead.
UW-Stevens Point's defense then got three consecutive stops and the Pointers went 5-for-6 at the free-throw line in the final minute to win their third conference game in a row. UWSP shot 11-for-13 (84.6 percent) from the charity stripe in the second half and scored 10 more points from the free-throw line than UW-Superior in the game.
