Plover student donates to drug dog program

PLOVER (WAOW) - A Plover student has raised hundreds of dollars for the Portage County drug dog program.

Keller Anderson is a fourth grader at Roosevelt Elementary School. He raised $400 for the program.

"I thought about doing it for the police department, and than I wanted to do it to help the dog from the police department," said Keller Anderson.

Deputy Daniel Wachowiak accepted the donation Monday.

"Our sheriff's office K-9 program is funded nearly all on donations," said Wachowiak. "Everything that we get is going to go toward the cost of the new dog."

The K-9 program is adding a second dog to the team in May.
