Man police tased 10 times sentenced to prison

WAUSAU (WAOW) - A Wausau man who police tased 10 times before he was arrested in 2012 was sentenced to 10 years in prison Thursday.

A plea bargain with Vili Yang resolved four different cases against him, including one that was filed in 2011, according to online Marathon County Circuit Court records.

Yang was convicted of seven charges after pleading no contest in the plea deal that dismissed other charges, court records said. The convictions included felony bail jumping and some drug counts.

Police went to Yang's home in February 2012 after his wife said he wasn't himself, authorities said. She later told investigators that he wouldn't let her leave the bathroom.

Yang refused to cooperate with police and was tased 10 times, investigators said.

During Thursday's sentencing, Circuit Judge Jill Falstad ordered Yang to serve seven years on extended supervision after he is released from prison, court records said.
