Jefferson Award Winner: Noah Lamaide

Noah Lamaide has made helping others a way of life.

"I think that it will make the world such a great place and I hope my work will inspire others to do the same," said Lamaide.

Lamaide began his volunteer work at a young age.

"For my 9th birthday I got diapers and stuff for operation bootstrap. That is the first real big thing I did," explained Lamaide.

Later, he set up a web site called Noah's Dream Catcher Network.

It gained international attention and raised $10,000 to save his grandmother's home from foreclosure.

Then came annual holiday food and gift collections and a pajama drive for the needy.

"I figured no one deserved to get nothing so I got movies hot chocolate and movies that were distributed," said Lamaide.

For his effort, Lamaide is the February Jefferson Award winner for volunteering his time and giving to others.

He says it is well worth the effort.

"You will feel good about yourself," he said.
