DA: Eagle River man stabbed pregnant girlfriend

EAGLE RIVER (WAOW) – A 28-year-old Eagle River man stabbed his pregnant girlfriend in the chest during an argument as she drove them home from visiting friends, according to a criminal complaint.

Andrew Rosner was charged with two counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide in the Feb. 1 incident and remained jailed on a $50,000 cash bond Thursday, according to online Vilas County court records.

One of the felonies involves the victim's unborn child and was filed because Rosner knew the woman was pregnant prior to the attack, the complaint said.

The 20-year-old woman told investigators that she was stabbed with a pocketknife that Rosner pulled out before he threatened her and told her he was going to watch her die, the complaint said.

The woman drove herself to an Eagle River hospital after Rosner left the car when it slowed down, the complaint said.

During a court hearing Thursday, a judge set Rosner's preliminary hearing for Feb. 25, a court official said.

No attorney was listed for Rosner in online court records.
