Medford man charged after police standoff

TAYLOR COUNTY (WAOW) - A Medford man arrested after an hour-long standoff with police in January has now been charged.

Timothy Phillips, 41, faces a felony charge of second degree recklessly endangering safety, according to online court records. He is also charged with misdemeanor counts of resisting an officer, operating a firearm while intoxicated, and disorderly conduct.

Taylor County Sheriff's officers said the standoff happened January 28 on Perkins Street in Medford. They said they had received a report of a man who refused to put down a gun. They also said the man fired a shot through the window of a house. No one was hurt.

Phillips is out of jail on a $10,000 cash bond. He has a court appearance scheduled March 11, according to online court records.
