Olympics prospect helps swimmers in Wausau

WAUSAU (WAOW) - An Olympic prospect was back home in Wausau on Saturday. Joshua Hall helped children hit the pool to improve their swim skills.

Hall graduated from Wausau East High School and swam for the Wausau Tide. He's now part of the Philippines' national team.

He held a clinic for young swimmers in the area Saturday. He said after learning so much from Wausau Tide, he is now happy to give back to children in the community.

"Just to see some of them look up to you is a whole other reality,” said Hall. “When I come here they're almost scared to talk to me. But you know I was a 10-year old at one time like they were, but it's pretty cool to be looked up to in a community that you grew up in."

Hall said he will continue to train with the Philippines' team. He will find out next year if he qualifies to swim with them for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
