Brewers 3B Ramirez has non-cancerous polyp removed
Brewers third baseman Aramis Ramirez may miss the first few games of spring training after having a non-cancerous polyp removed from his colon. Manager Ron Roenicke said Wednesday that the polyp was discovered during a routine colonoscopy. The veteran is expected to be in camp by Friday's mandatory reporting deadline. Roenicke says he spoke with Ramirez this week. He says Ramirez is swinging a bat again, but can't pinpoint when he'll be ready to play in games. Milwaukee plays its first spring training game Feb. 27. The 35-year-old Ramirez is coming off a left knee injury that limited him to 92 games last season. The career .285 hitter had 12 homers and 49 RBIs in 2013.
