Craigslist killing suspect to remain in Pa. prison
SUNBURY, Pa. (AP) -- -
A woman charged with her newlywed husband in the murder of a man they allegedly lured through Craigslist will remained locked up in a state prison while she awaits trial.
The Daily Item of Sunbury reports Friday that Judge Charles Saylor has rejected 19-year-old Miranda Barbour's requested to be transferred back to Northumberland County Prison.
Warden Roy Johnson had sent Barbour to the Muncy state prison for women last week, saying the international attention to Barbour's claim that she killed more than 20 people had disrupted security and efficiency at the county lockup. Police have found no evidence to substantiate her claim.
Barbour's attorney had argued the transfer would violate her constitutional rights and harm his ability to prepare a defense.
