Dart tournament fundraiser for hospice in Rhinelander
Fundraising was the target of one dart tournament in Rhinelander on Saturday.
Organizers say they raised more than $1,500 for Ministry Hospice.
Ministry Hospice volunteers say about ten percent of their clients need help paying for care.
The event was held at Bucketheads. They say more than 50 people competed in the tournament.
Organizers say they were happy with the turnout.
"That feels amazing, especially in a small community," said Melissa Houg, a Ministry Hospice volunteer and community outreach coordinator. "They all really kick in and a lot of businesses and everything are hurting right now. So it's important to support all those local businesses and by helping out with gift certicates and raffles like these, it's getting their name out as well."
People could also purchase raffle tickets or buy baked goods to support the cause.
