ROTHSCHILD (WAOW) -
The Patriot Center in Rothschild opened its doors this weekend to muskie fishing fanatics.
From boats to bait, if it relates to the state fish the Wisconsin Muskie Expo had it.
Organizers say more than 100 top vendors in the industry showed off their equipment and tackle.
They say the expo is an easy place to get hooked on the sport. Several children there Sunday picked up a rod and reel for the first time.
"Fishing's a lifetime experience for kids. There are guys here today that are 60, 70 years old that still have a twinkle in their eye and are still out there fishing for the big one," said Rich Reinert, the show organizer.
Organizers estimate that nearly 2,000 people attended the show, making this the largest Muskie Expo in all 3 years.
