Wrestling Team State
Number three Merrill routed number eight Mukwonago in its quarterfinal matchup on Friday afternoon, but the Bluejays couldn't overcome number two Bay Port in the semifinal later on Friday night, falling to the Pirates 28-25. Merrill finishes the season with a 19-2 record.
Girls Hockey State Semifinals
In a game featuring the top two teams in the state, the Bay Area Ice Bears secured a dramatic 2-1 overtime victory over the Central Wisconsin. It was the third meeting of the season between the two teams. They had split the first two, and the Ice Bears won the de facto tie-breaker to advance to the state championship game. The Storm's seventh consecutive trip to state ends with a semifinal loss.
