Wausau city crews remove ice and snow from catch basins

Workers from Wausau Public Works are busy removing snow and ice build up from catch basins.

"When it's buried with snow and ice it can cause flooding on the streets and homes and yards." said Public Works Supervisor Jason Quade.

Workers use metal detectors to find the buried drains and then put pressurized steam to remove the built up snow and ice.

"Right now, we are just hoping mother nature helps us with a slow melt so we can stay on top of things," said Quade.
