Area children get creative with duct tape

About two dozen children in our area got creative with duct tape.

The Marathon County Public Library in Wausau held a "Duct Tape Palooza."

More than 20 kids grades three through five attended. They made everything from key chains, to wallets, to bracelets, and flower pens, all using duct tape.

Organizers say this event gives children a chance to learn about some of the uses for the tape.
"They can use it to express themselves however they want so it's definitely something fun that they can take with them and they can wear it they can make stuff out of it," said Library Specialist, Laine Minarik.

"You always got duct tape lying around your house you're mom and dad always use it, you want to have something to do," said 5th grader, Tre Turbett.

This is the second year for the event.
