Faculty against students at local basketball fundraiser
RHINELANDER (WAOW) -
Students took on faculty on the basketball court in Rhinelander Tuesday.
The high school's Key Club hosted the event. More than a hundred people came out to watch the game.
About 10 faculty and 10 students played. Organizers say the game raises money to provide college scholarships for Key Club members.
They say they raised about $300.
"It's a unique way to raise money and it's really fun for the staff and the students, if it didn't make a lot of money I think we'd still try to do it just because it's a fun thing to do," said Key Club President, Logan Rudis.
"We appreciate all that they do and this is a fun and entertaining way to help out the Key Club," said Austyn Zarda, a senior at the high school.
"The odds are in our favor, we got a pretty good lineup and we'll see what happens," said Social Studies teacher, Matt Knott.
