Marshfield mother accused of biting sons

WISCONSIN RAPIDS (WAOW) – A 29-year-old Marshfield mother has pleaded not guilty to felony charges accusing her of biting two young sons, including one on his buttocks, according to court records.

The mother
was charged with two counts of child abuse in Wood County Circuit Court. No trial date has been set.

The investigation began in late December on a report that a six-year-old boy had marks on his buttocks from his mother, the criminal complaint said. The marks in the skin were photographed.

The boy's eight-year-old brother later told investigators that a “large bruise” on his upper arm was from his mother biting him two times in the same spot, the complaint said.

The mother talked to investigators, saying “she didn't know how hard she bit the boys, but it obviously might be too hard,” the complaint said.

The maximum punishment for each count of child abuse is six years in prison.

The mother's next court date is a pretrial conference April 11, court records said.
