Groundbreaking for planned Weston memory care community

WESTON (WAOW) - A Weston assisted living center has broken ground for its new memory care community.

The community will sit at the corner of Weston Boulevard and Franciscan Way. It is set to bring 35 full and part time jobs to the area. The new community is designed for memory care, giving residents with memory issues or dementia special attention.

"We are going to be able to offer something that so many people are not able to have right now," said Grace Koch, the Stoney River communications director. "It's nice for our campus and our community because we have a short term rehab, assisted living and now we will have the memory center. So we have continued care here."

Work is expected to begin on the community soon, and it's set to open in the fall.
