As health care deadline looms, people in Merrill get signed up
MERRILL (WAOW) -
President Barack Obama says more than six million Americans have signed up for health care coverage through the new insurance markets.
Now, with the deadline looming several people in our area took advantage of getting signed up with the help of professionals.
T.B. Scott Free Library in Merrill held a a free sign-up event Thursday. Library officials say more than 30 people came out utilize the service.
Three certified assisters from a Wausau office were signing people up.
"Obviously health care insurance is an extremely important aspect of people's lives and something that is going to be benefit to them as they try to figure out how they work in health insurance along with all the other budgetary needs for their families," said Library Assistant Director, Don Litzer.
The deadline to sign up for health insurance is Monday. Many people will still be able to take advantage of extensions announced this week.
