Some Wisconsin Rapids children try to set a world record

WISCONSIN RAPIDS (WAOW) - About 70 Wisconsin Rapids children got their fitness on Friday, all to set a new Guinness World Record.

That record, most people exercising to a fitness video within 24 hours in multiple locations.

The Boys and Girls Club of Wisconsin Rapids is one of many Boys & Girls Clubs across the country taking part in this video. The 15-minute fitness video featured a professional baseball player.

Club leaders say it's a fun way to improve fitness and health.

"It's an opportunity for us to draw awareness to the kids first and foremost that exercise can be fun and that it's important and than second it's a great way to show the community and bring awareness to the community about what the Boys & Girls Club is doing," said Jill Kurszewski, Development Director Boys & Girls Club.

"I got exercise, it was fun," said Jaden Hughes, a 3rd grader.

Club leaders say they plan to submit the video to the National Boys & Girls Club office on Monday.
