Water main break in Eagle River

A highway in Eagle River has reopened after being closed due to a water main break, according to Vilas County dispatch. Crews reopened highway 70 between 4th Street and 7th Street at 8:30 p.m. Saturday night.

Crews responded to a water main break in Eagle River on Saturday morning.

According to Vilas County dispatch, all lanes were blocked on eastbound and westbound highway 70 between 4th Street and 7th Street. Traffic was
rerouted around the water main break.

Crews from Eagle River Public Works, the Vilas County Highway Department, Eagle River Light and Water Department, the Department of Transportation, Vilas County Sheriff's Department and Eagle River Police Department are at the scene, according to Vilas County dispatch.

According to Vilas County dispatch, crews responded to the incident at 9:30 a.m. 

Officials say the break is weather related.
