Children's Festival draws thousands in Marshfield

MARSHFIELD (WAOW) - Children in Marshfield had a dizzying array of options for fun and games at the Children's Festival Saturday.

There was a bouncy castle, a karate mat and even a harp set up for children to experiment.

Organizers estimate about 2,000 people spent the afternoon in the fieldhouse at Marshfield High School.

In its 14th year, organizers say the festival has become a staple in the community.

"They look forward to this event every year," said Jennifer Frederick, a co-founder of the festival. "There's a lot of free activities for the children to participate in so it's just a great opportunity to get out in the community and see what Marshfield has to offer."

Several local businesses took part in the festival including the Marshfield Clinic. The event benefits the Marshfield Human Services Academy.
