Officials: Man arrested after firing shots in tavern and home

A 23-year-old Appleton man was arrested in Shawano county after Sheriff's Department officials say he waved a firearm in a tavern and later fired a gun inside a Town of Morris home on Friday night and Saturday morning.

Shawano County Sheriff's Department officials say they received a call Friday night about a man with a gun in a Village of Bowler tavern. When they arrived on scene, the suspect was already gone.

Around 3:20 a.m. Saturday, they received a report of a disturbance at home, where it was reported a man pointed a firearm at a person and shots being fired in the residence. Deputies were told this man was the same as the person who brandished a firearm earlier at a tavern.

Sheriff's department officials responded to the scene. Around 9 a.m. Saturday morning, 23-year-old Nicholas Loberger of Appleton was arrested.

He was jailed on suspicion going armed while intoxicated, carrying a concealed weapon, reckless endangerment, and disorderly conduct.
