Badgers fans react to loss

WAUSAU (WAOW) - Fans in Marathon County are coming to terms with the Badgers' loss Saturday night. In the Final Four matchup, the Badgers lost by one point to the Kentucky Wildcats.

"It was kind of a heartbreaker," said John Sleck of Wausau. "I wanted to see Wisconsin win it."

The nailbiting finish, fans say, played with their emotions.

"It was one of those you want to sit on the edge of your seat," said Dani Miller of Wausau.

Despite the loss, Wisconsin fans say they're still proud of the team.

"That one free throw, I feel so bad for that guy," said Miller. "He's got to be kicking himself right now. But he did a great job and I hope that he knows that."

"I figure they did great," said Richard Hubert of Wausau. "They got to the top four, can't do better. They did good."

"I'm happy that we made it this far," said Terrence Monroe of Wausau. "It was a struggle, but we did it."

With only one senior starter on the roster graduating this year, fans say they're already looking forward to next season.

"They'll be really good," said Tyler Schertz of Wausau. "I expect them to make it this far next year if not to the championship game."

Fans say they'll stand by their Badgers no matter what.

"Win or lose," said Sleck.
