WAUSAU (WAOW) -
A new burger joint opened Monday just in time for the college basketball national championship.
Milwaukee Burger Company is open for business on Stewart Avenue in Wausau.
Managers say several people have worked for more than a month to prepare.
They estimate about 200-300 people came in for lunch, and they expect about that number for the dinner crowd.
"I was happy that it opened finally," said Teri Neitzel, assistant general manager. "We were waiting and waiting, and then it's here, and it's a gorgeous, wonderful atmosphere that our guests can enjoy in."
The restaurant is fairly close to other similar restaurants such as Applebees and Buffalo Wild Wings.
Newsline 9 has spoken with Buffalo Wild Wings managers who say they welcome the competition.
