Kronenwetter police officer accused of soliciting a prostitute

WAUSAU (WAOW) - A Kronenwetter police officer has been arrested, accused of soliciting a prostitute.

Jason Rasmussen, 41, was arrested around 6 p.m. Thursday, according to a news release from Wausau police. They say Rasmussen solicited a prostitute and encouraged probation violations. Police say the arrest involves online personal advertisements.

Kronenwetter Police Chief Dan Joling told Newsline 9 Rasmussen is on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the allegations. 

According to the Kronenwetter Police Department website, Rasmussen has worked with the department since July 2006.

Rasmussen has not been charged.

A Wausau Police lieutenant tells Newsline 9 more details will be released Monday.
