Hundreds of 8th graders attend career fair

Posted:
WAUSAU (WAOW) - Central Wisconsin eighth graders checked out a variety of career paths on Friday.

More than 1,200 eighth graders attended a career fair at Northcentral Technical College in Wausau.

Students got to ask workers in a variety of fields what their jobs are like.

Newsline 9's Nancy Yousef explained to students what it takes to be a news reporter.

"It made me more interested in looking at it with all the describing that Nancy did," said Steven Reed, Prairie River Middle School eighth grader. "It looks really interesting. It looks like it could be hard, but at the same time very, very exciting."

Newsline 9 had one of the many booths at the fair.

Organizers say about 50 different businesses participated in the event.
