Unusual art exhibit promotes environmental themes

WAUSAU (WAOW) - Everyday objects are being made into unexpected art.

The exhibit called "RePurposed & ReImagined" is on display at the Woodson Art Museum.

There are textiles made of various objects like candy wrappers and poker chips. A display of insects show them in unique patterns.

Museum visitors were also struck by the unusual fashion.

"You just kind of recognize a Target bag and crime scene tape made into these beautiful dresses," said Theresa Bolwerk of Waupaca. "It's just very creative."

All three parts of the exhibit have environmentally conscious themes like recycling and maintaining insect habitats.

The exhibit is on display through June 15th.
