UPDATE: Crews work to restore power in Stevens Point

STEVENS POINT (WAOW) -- Wisconsin Public Service crews continue to work to get power back in the Stevens Point area. Right now, 34 customers are without power.

Power in some parts of the city was restored around 9:20 a.m. but crews continue to work on the additional scattered outages in the Almond, Plover, Junction City and Stevens Point area, according to WPS.

WPS wants to emphasize that you should stay away from any downed power lines or what looks like a potential dangerous situation.

WPS officials say large branches and trees are being weighted down by snow and are coming down onto power lines. They say there is no estimate for power restoration right now.
