The Women's Community awarded Suzanne Mathison and Angela Gonzales with Outstanding Achievement in Supportig Sexual Assault Victims.

Mathison has dedicated her career to children and families affected by sexual assault for more than two decades. Gonzales has been a volunteer on call advocate for the Women's Community since 2010.

"It's critical to have people like Suzanne and Angela to work in a community, to volunteer in our community, to be a part of responding to sexual assault in out community," said Jessica Lind, the Sexual Assault Victim Services program coordinator. "Because sexual assault, unfortunately, is happening right here in Marathon County."

Sexual assault services leaders say the best thing the community can do to fight sexual assault is to believe victims and lend them complete support.
