Marathon County Sheriff will run for re-election

MARATHON CO. (WAOW) - The race for Marathon County Sheriff is officially underway.

Sheriff Scott Parks announced he will run to keep his position.

He was appointed sheriff last May after Randy Hoenisch resigned.

Parks says he's proud of what he's accomplished so far and hopes to continue meeting his goals.

"We see our budget dollars continually being reduced and yet services need to be increased so we have to be pretty pro-active on making decisions that are going to fall within those realms and still provide the safety and security that this county needs," he said.

Parks plans to make several stops across the county in the next few weeks.
