WAUSAU (WAOW) - A judge on Thursday modified the conditions for a Newman High School religion teacher and soccer coach to be free on bond.

Marathon County Circuit Judge Jill Falstad permitted Michael Switalski to leave the county but not the state to look for work or visit relatives, according to online court records.

Switalski, 50, was charged in March with eight counts of possession of child pornography. Prosecutors say the teacher, who was placed on administrative leave, had 96 photos and 12 videos showing naked boys.

Police arrested Switalski after tracing videos from a Canadian company that were delivered to his home by mail, the criminal complaint said.

Switalski, who has taught at Newman, a private Roman Catholic school, for 22 years, is free on a $35,000 cash bond, with conditions that include he have no contact with relatives who are minors and he cannot use the Internet, court records said.
