Hundreds come out for Bowling for Autism event

Posted:
WESTON (WAOW) - Some central Wisconsin families bowled for a good cause Saturday afternoon.

The Autism Society of Central Wisconsin hosted their tenth annual Bowling for Autism event at Dale's Weston Lanes.

Organizers say about 300 people came to help raise money for the society and its social clubs.

They say finding social events like this can be difficult for families with autistic children.

"This is a place where they can come and have a good time, no judgement, no stares from anybody else and just enjoy being in the company of other people and families that are dealing with the same kind of issues," said Mike Johnson, the society's president.
