WAUSAU (WAOW) – A fire that started in what was described as a utility closet threatened an apartment complex Tuesday afternoon but caused no damage to any apartments, fire officials said.

The cause of the fire at Mountain View Apartments on Wausau's west side was unknown but broke out in a utility closet off an apartment that housed electrical equipment, authorities said.

The extent of the damage to the electrical equipment was not immediately known. No one was hurt.

People were allowed to return to their apartments later Tuesday.
