Wausau lawmaker announces re-election bid

WAUSAU (WAOW) – State Rep. Mandy Wright announced Wednesday that she will seek re-election to a second term.

The Wausau Democrat got 50 percent of the vote two years ago, narrowly defeating Republican Pat Snyder and Libertarian Jim Maas in the 85th Assembly District.

In my first term, I have worked hard to offer all stakeholders a place at the table because I believe cooperation and teamwork deliver the best possible results for our community and our state,” she said in a statement. “During the past two years, I have been proud to be able to work across party lines on a wide array of issues.”

Wright, a 36-year-old former English teacher, is married and has three daughters.

The 85th District includes Wausau, Schofield, Weston, Rothschild and eastern Marathon County.
