Brewers blow by Cubs 5-3

MILWAUKEE -- Jean Segura and Ryan Braun both left with injuries, but the Brewers used a strong start to blow by the Cubs 5-3 at Miller Park on Saturday.

Segura left before the bottom of the first, after being hit in the face by a Ryan Braun practice swing. Segura's replacement, Jeff Bianchi, delivered a clutch 2-RBI single in the bottom of the second to put the Brewers up 3-0.

Milwaukee was led by Marco Estrada on the mound. He went a career-long 7.2 innings, striking out nine and earning the victory.

Francisco Rodriguez earned his 11th save of the season, a major league best.

Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said after the game that Ryan Braun is day-to-day with a right intercostal strain.

The Brewers finish the series against the Cubs on Sunday. First pitch is scheduled for 1:10 p.m.
