UPDATE: Missing man drowned in pond

Paul Hudson Paul Hudson
SHAWANO COUNTY (WAOW) – A 42-year-old Shawano man missing since July 2013 died of accidental drowning, according to the Shawano County coroner.

Coroner Mike Jesse tells Newsline 9 he thinks Paul Hudson drowned shortly after he was last seen. Jesse says toxicology results have been sent to a lab, but says because of the amount of time Hudson was in the water, the results may not provide much information.

Hudson's body was found in a pond in the town of Wescott on Sunday. His family reported Hudson missing in October 2013, according to the Shawano County Sheriff's Department.

Officials say multiple searches were conducted during the past five months to find Hudson. The sheriff says family initially told authorities it was not out of the ordinary to go periods of time without hearing from Hudson, but that the extensive absence was unusual.
