MARATHON COUNTY (WAOW) -- A Merrill woman accused of trying to hire someone to kill her boyfriend has reached a plea deal, a prosecutor said Wednesday.
Jessica Strom, 33, is accused of offering money and sex to a man to kill her boyfriend.
Langlade County District Attorney Ralph Uttke tells Newsline 9 that a plea hearing scheduled for May 16, where he says, “We are going to stipulate that she is in fact competent and she is going to enter a plea.”
Uttke is a special prosecutor for the Marathon County. He says the deal will mean Strom avoids trial.

Strom's attorney had previously filed several motions in the case, including one requesting a competency exam for Strom based on statements she made to a police informant.
Strom is charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree intentional homicide.
