Sartori plans expansion, new jobs at Antigo plant

ANTIGO (WAOW) - The Sartori cheese plant in Antigo is about to begin a major expansion that will add jobs.

Family-owned Sartori has plants in Plymouth and Antigo.

CEO Jim Sartori announced Wednesday the company will spend $14 million to modernize both plants. He says the improvements will add 53 jobs.

Sartori says the Antigo plant, which employs 80 workers,  provides most of the company's artisan and specialty cheeses.

"There is demand for our products worldwide. We are selling in a dozen countries outside the United States. They love our products, " said Sartori.

The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation authorized $394,500 in state tax credits for Sartori in return for creating new jobs, authorities said.
