United Way to kick off Diaper Drive

Posted:
STEVENS POINT (WAOW ) -- The United Way of Portage County will kick off its second annual No Child's Wet Behind Community Diaper Drive from Mother's Day weekend through Father's Day weekend.

Two events are planned for Friday, May 9: Leadercast at the Holiday Inn and the Women's Fund of Portage County Spring Luncheon at the Stevens Point Country Club.

Approximately $16,000 in diapers and monetary donations were collected during last year's first-ever drive, filling a need many local agencies said was a top issue facing struggling families. Organizers are hoping this year's drive surpasses that total in order to continue helping local families.

Diapers can be dropped off from Mother's Day weekend through Father's Day weekend Monday through Friday at:
United Way of Portage County, 1100 Centerpoint Drive, #302, Stevens Point, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Trinity Lutheran Church, 1410 Rogers St., Stevens Point, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2000 Roosevelt Drive, Plover, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
