Gov. Walker talks propane shortage

ROTHSCHILD (WAOW) - Governor Scott Walker is giving us an update on the quest for federal help after the brutal winter.

The governor made a stop in Rothschild Friday. He says the state will look for ways to work with the Farm Bureau and other organizations so farmers get propane stored early for their needs next Fall.
Just last month Governor Walker declared another propane emergency.

"Yeah from our stand point we're going to work with local governments there were a lot of main breaks and some other things and much to say earlier in the season when we asked for assistance in terms of propane and as we plan going forward we're not only going to rely on working with the federal government in terms of emergency assistance but really looking ahead working not only with the propane industry," said Walker.

The governor was in our area today for the 80th Annual Conservation Congress Convention.
