Wausau mayor host bike to work event, despite wet weather

WAUSAU (WAOW)-- The wet weather didn't put the breaks on an annual tradition in Wausau.

Several people took part in the "Bike to Work with Mayor Tipple" event on Monday. Wausau Mayor Jim Tipple led a group of cyclists as part of National Bike to Work Week.

The event started at St. Anne's school on Bridge Street.

"Not only is the bike a recreational tool, but it also certainly can be a transportation tool and that's what we're using today," said Mayor Tipple. "We're all biking to work."

The event is now in its third year. The mayor ended the ride at City Hall with a healthy breakfast.
