Wausau West hires Brandl to lead girls basketball program

WAUSAU (WAOW) - Wausau West High School has announced the hiring of Nick Brandl as head coach of the girls basketball program. Brandl replaces former Warriors coach, Pat Galligan, who resigned after nine seasons with the team.

Brandl has accepted the job after spending 17 years in the athletics department at Oshkosh West High School. While at Oshkosh West, Brandl held many coaching positions ranging from volunteer to assistant varsity basketball coach and JV softball coach. In his 17 years of coaching, the programs have been to six state tournaments and nine sectional finals. He was also in charge of all statistical updates, video coordination, and tournament scheduling while at Oshkosh West.

Warriors Athletic Director, Dan Hein says, "Nick is a big believer in getting kids involved throughout the school and getting involved with students to help them succeed."

Brandl states, "Every student athlete is different and a good educator/coach will find a way to best reach that student athlete to help them succeed."
