Judge: Fatal Wausau bar shooting to head to trial

WAUSAU (WAOW) – The Wausau man accused of fatally shooting another man outside a Wausau bar will head to trial.

A judge ruled there is enough evidence to move the case forward.

John Lewis, 31, is charged with 25 felonies, including first-degree intentional homicide for the shooting death of K.C. Christopher Elliot.

The shooting happened on January 3 at Sidetracked Bar in Wausau.

Investigators say Lewis shot Elliot in the stomach. They say Elliot died at a Wausau hospital several hours later.

Lewis is being held in the Marathon County Jail on a $1 million bond.
