Man dies in motorcycle crash near Nekoosa


Wood County Sheriff's officials say a man driving a motorcycle died after crash in the Town of Saratoga.

Officials say the crash happened just before 8:30 p.m. on Saturday at the intersection of State Highway 73 and County Highway Z.

According to a news release, 29-year-old Michael Anderson was driving eastbound on Highway 73, when a 22-year-old man turned his car left onto the highway.

Investigators say the driver failed to yield to the right of way of the motorcycle.

They say the motorcycle crashed into the driver's side of the car.

Officials say Anderson died on scene and was not wearing a helmet.

They say Wood County Sheriff's Department, Saratoga First Responders, Nekoosa Ambulance and Wood County Rescue responded to the crash.

The investigation is ongoing, according to the news release.
