Wisconsin's 50 safest cities

WISCONSIN (WAOW) -- An online resource has put out a list of the 50 safest cities in the state of Wisconsin.

Safewise.com looked at FBI statistics of violent crimes and property crimes per capita in cities all over the U.S. In 2012.

Grand Rapids, just outside of Wisconsin Rapids in Wood County, came in at number three on the list. According to Safe Wise, there were not any violent crimes in Grand Rapids in 2012. The website says the community's effort with neighborhood watches contributed to that figure.

Kronenwetter also made the list, coming in at number nine.

The review looks at all cities with a population over 5,000 as of 2012. Violent crimes include robberies, murders, forcible rapes and aggravated assaults. Property crimes are defined as burglaries, property thefts, vehicle thefts and arsons.
