UPDATE: Police arrest 3 after attack in Wood County

WOOD COUNTY (WAOW) -- Two people are injured after an assault Sunday night in Wood County.

Wood County sheriff's deputies say they responded to reports of an assault in the Town of Saratoga at 7:17 p.m. Sunday. Police say approximately six or seven people had arrived at the home in a silver minivan, possibly a Chrysler, and began damaging a vehicle with baseball bats and other blunt objects.

Police say that's when a 17-year-old girl who lived at the home was assaulted. Authorities say the suspects then went inside the home began assaulting the male homeowner, causing significant injuries. Police say the attackers then left in the minivan.

The two victims were taken to the hospital and treated for their injuries.

Officials say the investigation revealed that this incident may have been retaliation for an altercation that had occurred the night prior in the Red Granite area between the female victim and one of the suspects.

Three suspects have been identified at this time, Vitana Lopez, 18, Gabriel Lopez, 30 and Yasmin Lopez, 37. According to the Wood County sheriff's office Vitana Lopez was been taken into custody by Wood County sheriff's authorities. On Monday, deputies say Gabriel Lopez, and Yasmin Lopez were taken into custody by Portage County sheriff's authorities. They are currently in the Wood County jail.

According to police they will be requesting charges of physical abuse to a child, substantial battery, burglary and criminal damage to property.
