UPDATE: Highway 29 reopened after flooding

A small stretch of Highway 29 has reopened after being closed due to flooding.

Officials on the scene tell Newsline 9 the flooding happened because of a clog in a culvert, a structure that allows water to flow off the road.

All westbound lanes of Wisconsin 29 from 9th Avenue to County Highway S were closed near Marathon City, according to Marathon County Sheriff's officials.

The highway was closed for about 2 hours.
