Two men arrested in Iverson Park beating


STEVENS POINT (WAOW) – Two people have been arrested in connection to a brutal beating that took place at Iverson Park Monday night, according to Stevens Point Police.

Officials say an 18-year-old man and a 26-year-old man have been taken into custody. There names have not been released.

Police say the beating sent one person to the hospital. They say that person has been released.

Stevens Point Police Department officials say they increased security at the park. They say to be extra cautious when you visit parks.

Both men are being held at the Portage County Jail, according to a press release. Officials say they're recommending the men to be charged with substantial battery.

“Other arrests in connection to this incident are probable,” the statement said.

The investigation is still ongoing.
