Wisconsin man sentenced for selling oxycodone

MADISON (WAOW) - A United States attorney says a Wisconsin man has been sentenced to federal prison for distributing the drug oxycodone.

The attorney says 37-year-old Brandon Vetterneck of Lac du Flambeau was sentenced Friday to 40 months in federal prison. He was denied a request for a two-year sentence.

Vetterneck pleaded guilty to the charge in April.

According to the attorney, two informants purchased the drug on three occasions in April 2013 at a home Vetterneck shared with his mother, Lois. Lois Vetterneck pleaded guilty to the same charge in April. She is set to be sentenced June 10.

Oxycodone is a narcotic commonly prescribed to treat moderate to severe pain.
