WAUSAU (WAOW) -- An organization that helps people through difficult transitions said, "Thank you," to its volunteers.
Randlin Homes has three houses in Wausau devoted to helping people through tough times.
Organizers say 50 people signed up to attend the appreciation dinner Saturday afternoon.
The two founders are stepping back from the organization after 13 years, and they say they were hoping to use the dinner as an opportunity to find new leadership and raise money.
"We definitely need a lot of volunteers," said Linda Larson Schlitz, a co-founder of Randlin Homes. "[My husband] Ralph and I spent a lot of time working for Randlin Homes volunteering over the years. We really need some people to fill our shoes."
Randlin Homes recently received a $5,000 grant from Home Depot to make improvements on their houses.
The founders say they're looking for collaborators in the community to work with on the projects.
